TJSBA Presents 2008 Jet Ski King’s Cup World Grand Prix

Rius RacingRius Racing is proud to announce our 3rd Place standing in the TJSBA 2008 Jet Ski Kings Cup World Grand Prix in beautiful Pattaya, Thailand.

After all the excitement of the IJSBA World Finals that took place in our hometown of Lake Havasu City, Rius Racing found themselves on the long journey to Thailand. Nicolas sent the Rius signature Yamaha Superjet to Thailand to enter the race for the prestigious Kings Cup in Ski Open class. We were excited to race along side Paul DelRosario of the Republic of Philippines as he mastered the 2008 Rius Racing Turbo SHO machine.

The King’s Cup is a beautifully coordinated event that has the spirit of racing front and center. Whether you were getting a massage on the beach, or enjoying some of the delicious Thai cuisine the experience can only be described as amazing. The Thai locals are more than happy to lend a helping hand when you need it. Fans and racers alike are busy taking in the experience that is the Kings Cup.

Rius On The LineUnfortunately a political uprising almost kept us and many other racers from attending the festivities Two trips to Los Angeles, 4 stops on the airplane, 3 changes of airplanes, and a quick flight into Utapao Naval base—we made it! A car ride into Pattaya and we arrived at the wonderful Jomentien Beach Resort. Immediately we began the preparations for racing.

The flight and travel delays left very little time for preparation and practice, but “The Fighter” came ready. We spent time, reviewed the complex course, and enjoyed seeing many racers, supportive sponsors, and devoted fans from all over the world. It was the hard work of the entire team that led to the success in Thailand. We would like to congratulate all the racers and their teams that made the long journey, no matter what the result of your race your participation in the events helped to make it such a success.

Special “Thanks” to all the teams that lent a hand to us and our crew. There are far to many to list so please accept our utmost gratitude for all your help. We will see you all again, hopefully we will bring home the 2009 Kings Cup!
Thank you to all involved, Rius Racing Team.
